Yaking

Yaking

There’s been two days I’ve got lucky to get myself out of the house and drive to the bridge on foggy days to capture these photos.

This photo kinda shows the attitude of where i live.

It was taken a couple of years ago in the fall of the pandemic. The lockdown started in march. This was late October. It was also only 2, 3 weeks after my daughter was born and it was a day colder than i would’ve like. So we bundled up the baby in the stroller and went on that walk. Im a huge fan of the fall, usually cold and cloudy, but not too cold, and not to rainy.

This might have been the beginning of the downfall of my photography passion, to call it something. First because having the baby leaves you no time left at all, unless you want to sacrifice more sleep. And the amount of photos produced multiplies by about 3, but all of them are of the baby and most of them are shit. But if you don’t lock on the shutter button you don’t get anything good, its all sudden moves and not at all paying attention to the camera or anything. So that became very tedious… Also another thing that happen is the use of the big pro camera slowed down in favor of the phone. Which is what we’re onto… This photo was indeed taken with a Fuji xt3. The XT4 came just a month after that.

On this shot we were walking along the seawall, we were on the way back to the car, and noticed a group of kayakers going in. Again, we’re talking temperatures on the single digits. And the water is never warmer than 5 Degrees.

This specific yaker went on a difererent route than the rest of the group. which worked out cause they got out of the frame very quick. Managed to take a few shots with that came out with different paddle position, this one was the best looking one I thought.

Also did a bit of extra editing on the phone prior to posting, mostly just pumping up the colors a bit.

The composition i like, i feel there’s something missing, perhaps more details or action in the clouds ( im sure something AI could fix in no time )

But im going to stay away from that for now and just keep it real.
