Runway

Runway

One of the first things I did when I got the car a while ago was drive to the airport, not to the actual building, but behind the runway. There’s a road to a park that runs around and along the north runway. It’s very easy to park on the side of the road and take photos, and there’s also a parking area at the end, which is where this photo was taken. I was with my 2nd DSLR camera equipped with a 300mm lens. Sitting on the trunk of the car, I waited for the planes, which you can track by looking at the distant lights and strobes, to come closer and closer. That day, I tried a bunch of locations; I started at the east end of the north runway, but since planes were coming from the west, I moved to the middle and then to the west end where the parking lot is located. There were plenty of photos taken, but this one won. Nothing particular stands out except for the memories of similar photos I saw growing up
