Quick Snap

This was an unexpected photo. That day got a package with a bunch of very cheap ND filters and walked to the beach to try them out. Initially was looking fwd to do very long exposures with the sun out and shinning, and these filters were on the heavy side, 8, 10, 12 stops kind of thing. Was travelling light, the camera was on a gorilla pod. As usual would setup the camera, take a few photos, pick up and move for a different photo. I very rarely look at the photos on the camera, perhaps to check the exposure, but for the most part don’t even bother. So after taking 3 or 4 photos, walking to another area i snooped in the camera to see the photos and all of them were horrendous, sharp-ish but the colors completely messed up. So i got demotivated, figured it was a waste of time and money and should’ve gotten something more expensive but useful. Despite that the shoot continued, figured to at least finish the walk, and who knows maybe could be useful for something. It was a good 2 hrs, walked all the way to the first bridge and put the camera away when the exposures were longer than 2 minutes to get any detail.

After loading the photos to the computer and adjusting the white balance is when all my hopes went back up. Not perfect, but again, cheap, cheap filters. I think they were worth the change tho. Got a few interesting photos. This photo is with the Fuji XT-3.
